Meet Meghan
Fun Food Mom
MEGHAN SPLAWN IS A FOOD WRITER, RECIPE DEVELOPER, AND PODCAST HOST. HERE YOU’LL FIND CLIPS OF RECENT WORK, PERSONAL RECIPES, AND ALL HER FAVORITE SPRINKLES..
Meghan Splawn is a food editor with a passion for meal planning and getting messy in the kitchen with kids. A graduate of New England Culinary Institute’s prestigious baking and pastry program, she worked as a pastry chef before joining Alton Brown’s culinary team for over 10 years. Meghan’s work for Brown included recipe development and food styling for the award-winning television show Good Eats and the New York Times best-selling Good Eats book series, as well as food styling, project management, and on-air appearances.
Meghan approaches food with an eye towards budgeting — both time and money — and a having fun. She currently writes full time for TheKitchn.com, where her work is read by millions of readers each month. She co-hosts a weekly podcast, Didn’t I Just Feed You, where she and Stacie Billis dish out sane picky eating advice, easy recipe ideas and so much more in every episode.
Meghan’s writing, recipes, and photos have appeared in Parent’s Magazine, Family Fun, Red Book, and more. She’s collaborated with brands big and small (Coca-cola, Albertsons, OXO, and Cabot Cheese to name a few). And is always up for a new adventure in food media — though you’d be hard pressed to find something she hasn’t tried yet.
A mom of two littles, Meghan is trying to make a few messes and have as much fun as possible with her kids before they grown up. She lives and works with her family in beautiful Boise, Idaho, where she’s probably sweeping up (naturally colored) sprinkles at the moment.
